Mr. Chia Soo Vui, BSC(Hon) – Eng, a Malaysian, was appointed to the Board on 7 April 2000 and is presently the Managing Director cum Chief Executive Officer of the Group as well as the Executive Director of Realty Development, Laboratory Testing, Human Resource and Compliance, Control, Communication & Admin Depts.
He graduated from the University of Manchester, England with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) Degree in Building Technology in 1980. He first started his career as an Executive Engineer with a consulting firm Jurutera Consultant (SEA) Sdn. Bhd., Kota Kinabalu in 1981. In 1983, he joined Sabah Town and Housing Development Authority as the Project Engineer for the Lok Kawi Resettlement Scheme involving the construction of 750 units of single storey terrace house by Ferrocement Panel System worth RM 42 million in Kota Kinabalu. In 1986, he joined Goh Brothers (S) Sdn. Bhd. as the Project Manager for the construction of 36-km Lahad Datu-Bakapit Road funded by World Bank worth RM36 million. In 1989, he joined UF Engineers Sdn. Bhd. as the Project Engineer for the Tawau Central Sewage System funded by the government worth RM23 million. In 1997, he left and teamed up with Mr. Kah Gong Kiang and Mr. Leong Vui Wah to start his 3-partner general construction firm M/s Pemborong Rajatiga in Tawau, Sabah as the Managing Partner. On 7 April 2000, he pioneered to form the Group.
He has broad professional and managerial knowledge and more than 33 years of vast experience in the field of Civil Engineering, Building Construction and Quarry industries.
Mr. Leong Vui Wah, Executive Director
Mr. Leong Vui Wah, a Malaysian, was appointed to the Board on 7 April 2000 and is presently the Executive Director – Quarry, Maintenance & Workshop, Asphaltic Concrete and Project Depts and Sandakan Branch Operation of the Group.
He first started his career as a Quarry Plant Officer-in-charge with a construction company M/s UF Engineers SdnBhd in Tawau in 1989 and had gained considerable practical quarry management knowledge, skills and expertise. He was there for 8 years before he teamed up with Mr. Chia Soo Vui and Mr. Kah Gong Kiang to start their 3-partner general construction firm M/s Pemborong Rajatiga in Tawau in 1997. On 7 April 2000, he helped to form the Group.
He has broad technical and practical knowledge and more than 24 years of vast experience in the quarry, asphalt concrete and civil engineering works.
Mr. Chu Chee Leong, a Malaysian, was appointed to the Board on 7 April 2000 and is presently the Executive Director – Kota Kinabalu Branch Operation of the Group.
He first started his career as a Foreman in a construction firm M/s Yun Siong Construction, Sandakan in early 1974. He was there for 6 years and in 1980 he started his own construction firm M/s Para Cemerlang Sdn. Bhd dealing in quarrying, road construction and maintenance, general construction and civil engineering works in Tawau, Sabah. Later on 26 September 1996, he incorporated M/s Ultimate Reserves Sdn Bhd dealing in quarrying in Tawau. On 7 April 2000, he helped to form the Group.
He has broad practical knowledge and more than 35 years of vast experience in the quarry, road construction and civil engineering industries.
Mr. Lee Hon Yin, a Malaysian, was appointed to the Board on 7 April 2000 and is presently the Non-Executive Director of the Group.
After completing his secondary education at Tawau Government Secondary School in1970, he first worked at M/s United Machineries, Tawau as a Trainee Technician in 1971 and later joined M/s Teck Guan Automobile Sdn. Bhd., Tawau as a Trained Technician in 1974. He was selected to attend a 3-Month Nissan Automotive Industrial Training Course in Japan in 1976. In 1980, he started his own business M/s Lee Auto Service in Tawau dealing in auto repairs and services. In 1985, he teamed up with 2 business friends to start M/s LCC Construction in Tawau dealing in earthwork, road construction & maintenance and land reclamation projects. In 1990, he started his proprietorship firm M/s Rich Hill Enterprise in Tawau dealing in earthwork and land reclamation. On 7 April 2000, he helped to form the Group.
He has broad technical and practical knowledge and more than 30 years of vast experience in the mechanical-related fields of maintenance & workshop, quarry, earthwork & land reclamation management.
Mr. Leong Vun Yee, Executive Director
Mr. Leong Vun Yee, a Malaysian, was appointed to the Board on 1 December 2005 and is presently the Executive Director – Precast Concrete Dept and Lahad Datu Branch Operation of the Group.
After completing his senior secondary education at Sabah Chinese High School, Tawau in 1975, he joined UMW Berhad as a Technician and later in 1979 Lucky Auto Parts in Tawau as a Supervisor. In 1985, he was an Oil Palm Estate Subcontractor and in 1986 Manager of M/s Mega Trading, Tawau dealing in electrical products and appliances. In 2001, he incorporated Cabaran Perkasa Sdn Bhd dealing in the manufacture of precast concrete piles, pipe culverts and ready mix concrete in Tawau. On 1 December 2005, he was invited and joined the Group.
He has broad technical and practical knowledge and more than 10 years of vast experience in the precast concrete products industry as well as heavy machineries management.
Mr. Shim Nyuk Min, a Malaysian, was appointed to the Board on 1 October 2007 and is presently the Executive Director – Project, Asphaltic Concrete and Realty Development Depts of the Group.
He graduated from the University of Leeds, England with a Bachelor of Science (1st Class Honours) Degree in Civil Engineering in 1979. During his final year in the University, he was awarded the prestigious “Holst Prize” as an undergraduate in recognition of his outstanding academic study excellence in Concrete Structures – Design & Detailing. He first started his career as an Executive Engineer with Jabatan Kerja Raja (JKR) Sabah, in Sandakan in March 1980 heading the building section at its Divisional Office. By October 1982, he became the 1st District Engineer of Beluran to set up its first JKR Office, March 1986 District Engineer of Tenom and August 1989 District Engineer of Lahad Datu. By September 1999, he was transferred to Tawau as the Project Engineer for Tawau Airport – Dual Carriage Way Project and May 2004 Jalan Pantai Kg. Selamat to Kg. Mentalitip Road Project in Semporna. He resigned from JKR in August 2007 and joined Ultimate Reserves Group on 1 October 2007.
